Make progress explainable
At zero explored area the level begins at one. At 10,000 square meters it becomes two. At 25,000 it is three, halfway toward the next step. These numbers describe the implementation’s area model; they are not a claim that GPS measures your surroundings with survey precision.
Because progress derives from the same deduplicated exploration total, opening a menu, sharing a movie or adding a Plan does not award separate points. You should be able to connect the displayed progress to recorded ground rather than hunt for hidden engagement rules.
Allow familiar days to remain worthwhile
A repeated commute may add little unique area. That does not make the day a failure. You can still keep a photo, take a short clip or find a different reason to enjoy the same neighborhood. Nowhop’s purpose is to make today special, not to demand a larger geographic score every evening.
There is no daily expiration in this level calculation. Missing a weekend does not reset it. A cosmetic title recognizes a milestone without changing access to existing plans, moments or exploration records.
Keep the metric in its proper role
The level should not be read as a fitness rank, a measure of courage or evidence that one person’s day was better. Accepted vehicle movement can contribute to the current exploration model; GPS alone does not reliably identify every transport mode.
Location quality still matters. Apple describes limits to location-based information, and the development app filters observations rather than rewarding every apparent movement. There is no reason to chase unsafe or inaccessible ground for a number. Changing the visual theme or Fog setting does not create new exploration.
Questions this guide answers
Which parts still need field calibration?
Real-device journeys must test how filtering, coverage width and repeated routes affect progress. Corrections or migration can affect derived totals. A working formula and Simulator checks do not establish balanced rewards or a universal battery result.
Can I earn levels by opening the app every day?
Not through the current formula. Levels derive from unique explored area, not check-ins, screen time, swipes, purchases or the number of exported videos.
Does repeating the same street earn the same area again?
No. The area total is deduplicated. Repeated journeys can still belong in your dated movement history without turning already known ground into new progress.
Will missing a day remove my milestone?
There is no streak-expiry rule in this design. Cosmetic exploration milestones are based on retained progress, and do not gate the personal records you already have.
