Ask what creates the entry
Worldly’s official page describes searching for a place, choosing its geographic level and optionally adding dates or notes. It says the app does not request location access. A manual visit can therefore represent a remembered holiday without pretending the phone observed its streets.
Nowhop’s Passport is a different record: supported movement grouped into countries, cities and dated detail. A trip reservation or an attractive globe does not establish that movement. Neither model is automatically more meaningful; they answer different questions.
Compare what you can share
Worldly offers a boarding-pass image for an individual visit, with its place, date and attached photos. Daily Hop produces a timed sequence of photos and short clips, with a recorded map only when selected. Choose between a visit card and a replay of the day; neither output is an originals recovery archive.
Compare the denominator, not the visual ring
A count of countries marked visited and a percentage of explored area inside a boundary are not competing measurements of the same thing. A family trip may be a meaningful country memory even when no route was recorded. A small neighborhood can contain substantial personal history without changing a country count.
Before comparing totals, ask what qualifies, where the boundary comes from and whether historical entry is manual or observed. Similar globe controls should not obscure those differences. Nowhop does not promise to reconstruct a past holiday from a city name alone.
Read privacy and recovery beyond the headline
Worldly’s linked FAQ describes local visit storage and separately discloses Apple search requests and product analytics. It currently says archive export and import are unavailable. Those distinctions matter more than a generic local-storage badge.
Nowhop’s development build uses local personal records and a manual originals recovery archive. That is not a verified importer for Worldly data, nor a claim of superiority across every privacy dimension. Review the exact export, backup and sharing behavior you need, and keep your established history while evaluating another workflow.
Questions this guide answers
Is Nowhop proven more accurate than these alternatives?
No comparative physical-device result establishes that claim. A cleaner display is not evidence of better GPS. Worldly’s manual place model also answers a different question from an automatically observed path.
Which model works for a trip I took ten years ago?
A manual visit log can represent your remembered place and date. Nowhop should not invent GPS observations for a journey made before it recorded anything.
Can I compare their percent-explored numbers directly?
Not without matching definitions. A manual geographic visit and a deduplicated movement corridor may use entirely different evidence and denominators.
Does local storage mean an app has no analytics?
Not necessarily. Storage of personal visits, external place searches and product analytics are separate questions. Read each provider’s current explanation rather than inferring all three from one phrase.
