A day needs a few recognizable anchors
Morning coffee, a small detour and an evening with friends can say more than a constant recording. Capture what you notice, then leave the phone alone. There is no requirement to document every hour or prove that your day was exciting enough.
Hop is the destination for reviewing these moments. Daily Hop names the day’s artifact, not a fifth menu. Map, Plan and Passport continue to have separate jobs, so a personal day does not need to become a public activity feed.
Read the media and the route together
A photo or clip has one time-and-place caption when that context is known. The actual day map stays beneath it, helping you understand where the day unfolded without making the image small inside a pile of cards.
If a capture has no observed position, its caption does not borrow a later GPS fix. Existing day geometry can remain visible, but an exact cursor is omitted when it would be invented. An unknown moment does not erase the rest of the route.
Choose the date, then move through it
The day picker changes the day being reviewed. Replay time changes the point you inspect within that day. Neither edits original capture timestamps or changes where a route point was recorded. The capture caption remains tied to that capture.
Some days have moments but little route data; others have a route and no photos. Those are different kinds of records, not failures to complete the app. Do not manufacture a scene or a location just to fill an empty slot.
Export when the result says something
Open export, inspect the included moments, choose a time range and decide whether the map belongs in the shared version. The preview’s movie duration describes the assembled output, not how many hours you were outside. A saved day and a shared movie are different objects.
Nowhop remains in development. The web preview is a draft demonstration; the native app performs local movie creation. For location-sharing context, Apple explains why media location information deserves review.
Questions this guide answers
Is Daily Hop a social network?
No social feed or automatic posting is part of the current design. It is your private day review, with explicit video creation and system sharing when you decide to send something.
Must the map be the main attraction?
No. Moments keep photos and clips central. The supporting map supplies context; export can omit the map entirely when the media tells the day more clearly.
Does an empty time slot need a photo?
No. A day can be uneven. Capturing a few meaningful moments is enough, and missing media should not be replaced by invented events or a pressure to keep a streak.
What happens when the day has a route but no camera moments?
A route-only replay can present the recorded geometry; the current renderer uses an eight-second presentation. It does not create photographs or pretend the compressed playback duration is the time you traveled.
