Write the arrival date as carefully as the time
A late flight can depart on one date and arrive on another. Enter or verify both ends using the booking’s local times, rather than assuming the second clock belongs to the departure day. Keep the booking confirmation as the source for changes.
For an online meeting during a trip, check whether the invitation has moved visually because your phone now uses a different local zone. A display change is not automatically a changed appointment. Apple documents these distinctions in its Calendar time-zone guide.
Do not use the replay slider to correct a clock
Hop’s date chooses which day you review. Replay time moves through that day’s presentation. A moment’s capture time remains attached to the original observation. Scrubbing to an evening route position does not turn a lunchtime photo into an evening photo.
If a place caption is available, it belongs to the capture, not your present GPS position. Removing abbreviations from the visible design does not remove the underlying date and zone needed to preserve this distinction.
Choose an export range within the selected day
From and To select the portion to include in a Daily Hop export. They are not an editor for original capture timestamps. The range follows the selected day’s time context, including places where the clock changes seasonally.
Some local clock times do not occur during a spring change; others occur twice during an autumn change. Nowhop’s current controls resolve those cases explicitly rather than silently choosing an impossible or ambiguous instant. A day also need not contain exactly twenty-four elapsed hours.
Check one real example before a long trip
Open a known appointment, inspect its intended local date, then browse a recorded day and a short export range. This is more revealing than checking a clock abbreviation alone. An explicit time-zone chooser can show friendly place labels when a choice is necessary.
Normal Plan and Hop screens should not make you interpret raw technical identifiers. This guide describes development behavior, not a guarantee that every external calendar has correct source data. Correct a mistaken original appointment at its source as well as any local copy.
Questions this guide answers
Why do normal screens no longer show BST or a technical zone name?
Those labels added visual noise. Date and time-zone logic still exists internally; explicit zone selection remains available where necessary. A cleaner clock is not an instruction to ignore travel dates.
Does changing the export start time change my photos?
No. It selects what goes into that export. The original capture time, media and movement records stay unchanged, so another export can use a different range later.
What does an end time at midnight mean?
In the day-range flow, the end at midnight represents the selected day’s boundary. It should not silently clamp to a different afternoon or backdate the underlying captures.
Does changing the visible zone change the original instant?
No. The saved instant and source time context remain available while a chosen local view can show a different clock or date. Selecting another trip day does not rewrite route timestamps.
