Use Plan before deciding where to go
Put a meeting, a café possibility and a station into one date. The day route helps you see their order and relationship. It can expose a stop that is inconveniently far away before you leave, provided the entries have usable places and the requested directions are available.
Apple supplies route information through MapKit directions. A proposed route remains a proposal. It cannot tell whether you later changed entrances, skipped lunch or took a different train.
Use recorded movement to review what happened
Map exploration comes from accepted observations. In Hop, Route gives the actual saved day more space; Moments keeps photos and clips central with a supporting map. Passport groups recorded exploration by place and date. Neither view should replace a missing segment with the route you intended to take.
For example, canceling a museum plan should remove or change that intention without erasing a walk already recorded nearby. The reverse also holds: marking a plan as complete is not evidence that every street in its suggested route was traveled.
Keep travel modes and clocks separate
Choosing Bike for nearby discovery asks for a relevant journey estimate. It does not classify the rest of your day as cycling. GPS movement alone is not an exercise certificate, and distance in a personal journal should not automatically become walking distance.
A planned start time is also different from a photo’s original capture time. Hop’s replay clock and export range are inspection and composition controls; they do not backdate media. This separation is part of Nowhop’s current development workflow, not a promise of navigation or complete tracking coverage.
Questions this guide answers
Does adding a place reveal its neighborhood?
No. Choosing a candidate creates a Plan entry. Exploration depends on accepted movement, independently of whether you created an itinerary.
Can I view a route without creating a trip?
A dated plan or recorded day does not require a named travel period. My trips is an optional way to group travel dates, stays and transfers.
Why can the planned and recorded lines differ?
You may have traveled differently, or the phone may lack observations for part of the journey. A directions service’s suggestion should not overwrite that distinction.
