Creation is not publication

A local render produces a file for you to inspect. It should not silently open a social composer, upload to a feed or notify friends. This pause matters because the most important privacy check happens on the result, not the settings you remember choosing.

In Nowhop’s native development flow, the completed video stays the focus. Adjust returns to the export controls; Save video and Share are explicit actions. The browser’s draft preview must not claim either a real encoded movie or a successful share.

Save when you want a personal derivative

Save video is useful when you want to watch the movie later in Photos or choose a destination separately. The app requests the relevant add permission for that action rather than reading your whole library. A denial should not erase the original day or turn a failed save into a success message.

Once the file is in Photos, your Photos and iCloud settings determine what happens to that copy. A local-first app cannot promise that a file you deliberately save elsewhere stays only in its own protected store.

Share when you know the destination

The system share sheet lets you choose where the finished file goes. Different destinations may accept, compress or reject the movie differently. Choosing a target is not proof that every recipient has downloaded or watched it.

For a cloud folder, review who can access the link. Apple’s iCloud Drive sharing guidance distinguishes invitation and link access. A personal backup folder should not accidentally become the public destination for a day video.

Keep a backup for a different reason

A flattened movie cannot reconstruct original capture times, separate source clips, plans and movement records. Use the originals backup when your goal is recovery after replacing a phone. Save video is for a viewable result, not a migration format.

After sharing, retain only the derivatives you want. Cleaning an export is separate from deleting original moments, and changing one should not remove the other unexpectedly. Before sending another version, check its range, frame, map and sound again rather than assuming it matches the earlier file.

Questions this guide answers

Why does saving ask for Photos permission?

It writes a new movie into Photos. That explicit add action is separate from reading an existing library, importing camera-roll media or automatically uploading your private records.

Does Share confirm the other person received the video?

Not necessarily. The system hands the file to the selected destination. Delivery, upload and playback depend on that service and its connection; a share-sheet action is not universal proof of receipt.

Can I restore my whole day from the exported movie?

No. The movie is a presentation. Restore needs the separate originals archive containing records and validated media, not a flattened video of the day.

Do I need followers or a hosted public page?

No. A locally rendered file can be kept or sent through system sharing. The current app does not require followers, create a public day page or distribute it automatically at midnight.
